Did you know? Bruce McLaren developed a prototype of the M6GT model, but only two vehicles were ever produced. One of them became his personal vehicle until his death in June 1970.
It was in 1963 that Bruce McLaren, a British car manufacturer, founded his company. Originally known for his achievements in Formula 1 and winning major victories in the world of motor racing, McLaren did not stop there. His passion for innovation and performance led him to start producing sports and luxury cars in 1989.
The first McLaren F1 completely revolutionized the automotive world with its powerful V12 engine, making it the fastest road car of its time.
From that moment on, McLaren has always sought to push the boundaries by launching a series of iconic models such as the McLaren P1. Its ultimate goal? To build the fastest car in the world. Only two prototypes out of 250 were ever produced, including the McLaren M6GT, which was Bruce McLaren's personal vehicle until his death in 1970.
Production of McLaren road cars was taken over in 1989 by Ron Dennis, who founded McLaren Cars.
In 2002, McLaren changed its name to "McLaren Automotive."
It was in 1992 that the McLaren brand unveiled its first model, the McLaren F1. Following a partnership with Mercedes, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was launched in 1998.
The British brand has continued to evolve over the years and has also continued to grow its figures.
