The history of Lamborghini began with an Italian named Ferruccio Lamborghini. 

In 1963, he decided to start manufacturing sports cars with one ultimate goal in mind: to rival Ferrari! No one really believed it would happen...

And yet Ferruccio was no lack of genius and knew how to shake up the rules to create one of the most prestigious car brands in the world!

It all began in the 1960s when Ferrucio Lamborghini, a tractor factory manager, accepted a bet: to produce sports cars that were more attractive and faster than the famous Ferraris.

Just four months later, the first brand-name car was created: the 350 GTV. This was only the beginning.

In 1965, Lamborghini launched the Miura: a sports car with a revolutionary chassis and design. It was a successful gamble, as the Miura was the first car in the world to reach speeds of over 300 km/h. 

Unfortunately, the 1970s heralded a decline in sales, partly due to the oil crisis.

In 1974, Ferruccio sold all his shares and retired to the province of Perugia, Italy, where he lived until his death in 1993.

In 1987, Chrysler, an American manufacturer, paid $33 million to buy the brand. 

The group passed into Indonesian hands between 1994 and 1998 before being taken over by Audi. 

As a result, Audi will inherit Lamborghini's sporty touch, and the Italian brand will benefit from Audi's innovative techniques. This merger has given rise to the Gallardo and the Huracán.
