In 1989, McLaren Automotive was founded by Ron Dennis, and the company was then called "McLaren Cars." Three years later, McLaren unveiled its first creation, the McLaren F1, designed, as its name suggests, for speed competitions.
In 1998, McLaren entered into a partnership with Mercedes in Formula 1, and together they created the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. The brand continues to create new models today, such as the 650s and the 675LT.
